Cattle Report 28th August 2017

6 Store cattle and 16 OTM’s were sold on Monday.

Store steers sold to 264.4p/kg for a pair of 312kg Charolais, from Ritch, Sandside, Graemsay, which realised £825.
Other leading steer prices per kilo –
Angus (340kg) Ritch, Sandside, Graemsay (258.8p) £880

Store heifers sold to 233.3p/kg for a 315kg Charolais, also from Sandside, which realised £735

OTM cows sold to 168.3p/kg for a 695kg Limousin, from Stevenson, Midhouse, Evie, which realised £1170 – This was also top price per head.

Simmental (655kg) Brown, Glebe, Firth (163.4p) £1070
Limousin (725kg) Scott & Brown, Biggings, Stenness (149.7p) £1085
Saler (720kg) Balfour Estates, Shapinsay (147.2p) £1060

There will be a Special Sale of Store cattle next Monday at 10.30am, this will include Prime and OTM cattle.

Sheep (All classes) will be sold every Tuesday, beginning next week, 5th September, at
12 noon.
