Cattle Report 20th April 15

16 Prime cattle, 16 Store cattle and 13 OTM’s were sold on Monday, when Prime cattle sold to 215p/kg for a 625kg Limousin steer, from J & J Fraser, Feavel, Birsay, which realised £1343.75 and was purchased by E Flett Butcher Stromness.

Charolais (685kg) Sinclair, South Unigarth, Sandwick (194p) £1328.90

Prime heifers sold to 206p/kg for a 590kg Charolais, from J & R Stanger, South Seatter, Sandwick, which realised £1215.40 and sold to Craigie Butchers Ltd Tankerness.

Store heifers sold to 196.9p/kg for a 485kg Simmental, from V R A Sinclair, Netherhouse, Harray, which realised £955.

Top price per head for store heifers was £1110 for a pair of 605kg Charolais, also from Netherhouse, Harray (183.5p)

OTM Cattle sold to168.8p/kg for a 480kg Charolais steer, from D Foulis, Horraquoy, Deerness, which realised £810.
