Cattle Report 21st July 14

8 Prime cattle and 19 OTM’s were sold on Monday, when Prime cattle sold to 210p/kg for a 560kg Aberdeen Angus steer, from J Corrigall & son, Northbigging, Dounby, which realised £1176 purchased by Craigie Butchers Ltd Tankerness.

Charolais 595kg Corrigall, Northbigging, Dounby (204p) £1213.80
Angus (625kg) Morgan, Swannay Farm, Swannay (196p) £1225
Charolais (615kg) Thomson, Layburn, Rendall (195p) £1199.25

Prime heifers sold to 205p/kg for a 655kg Charolais, from T & S Bain, Arion, Stromness, which realised £1342.75 again purchased by Craigie Butchers Ltd Tankerness.

OTM Cattle sold to 136.6p/kg for a 725kg Simmental, from W S Garson & son, Huan, Sandwick, which realised £990.
Top price per head was £1020 for a Limousin scaling 755 kilos from M W T & A R Newton Roo Sanday (135.1p)
