A smaller than usual number of cattle and lambs met with some enthusiastic bidding from both our local butchers and a few interested parties from South, after having been judged by John Park, Butcher, E Flett & Co, Stromness and Liam Muir, Upper Onston, Stenness.
Champion on the day was an April ’11 born Limousin steer, shown by Balfour Baillie, Sebay Cottage, Tankerness, which scaled 595kg and realised £2500 to E Flett & Co, Stromness.
The Reserve Champion, a May ’11 born British Blue heifer, scaled 595kg and realised £2000. This heifer was also shown by Balfour Baillie.

The Champion lambs were a pair of Beltex X’s from R & G Brown, Newhall, Stromness, which scaled 38.5kg and realised £160 per head to Williamson’s, Butcher, East Road, Kirkwall.
