Cattle Report 2nd July

17 Prime cattle, 8 Store cattle and 29 OTM cattle were sold today, when Prime cattle sold to 229p/kg for a 630kg British Blue heifer, from Wood, Pow, Sandwick, which realised £1442.70 to E R & T Craigie, Butchers, Tankerness.

Charolais (610kg) Garson Farms, Sandwick (217p) £1323.70
Aberdeen Angus (550kg) Harvey, Raveyhall, Twatt (211p) £1255.45

Prime steers sold to 217p for a 625kg Charolais, from Garson Farms, Sandwick, which realised £1356.25 to W Lobban & Son, Butcher, Kirkwall.

Store steers sold to 193p/kg for a 570kg Limousin, from Dennison, Odiness, Stronsay, which realised £1100

Store heifers sold to 194p/kg for a 420kg Limousin, also from Odiness, which realised £815.

OTM Cows sold to 162.6p/kg for a 615kg Charolais, from Scott & Brown, Biggings, Stenness, which realised £1000

Top priced cow on the day was £1100 for a 760kg Limousin, from Omand, Burnlea, South Ronaldsay (144.7p)
